WE BELIEVE

We believe in establishing core relationships with those that are serving the children in our community and know the state of the crisis best. These individuals can easily expedite the information as to what is needed and also provide what is needed, with help. Through these relationships we are able to develop a concrete plan, with data and share the needs effectively.

We believe in getting straight to the problem and helping. We believe that learning and sharing what we learn is the way to help.

We believe our community is powerful. The amount of volunteers, initiatives and passion to contribute selflessly is evident and effective. We believe there is an audience, though, that we have yet to reach and we want to create a magical way to get there. A way that has no fear of judgement and feels alive with possibility. We believe you are able reach the children this way, by providing more light in the midst of uncertainty.

We believe that by bringing organizations together, we are able to help more children and promote community wide healing.

AARON HIKE

Co-Founder of Hike Kidz Foundation, Aaron Hike has been serving the community in building and developing for over ten years. This foundation has been a long time goal for Aaron, as he suffered through Foster care displacement and homelessness throughout his childhood and made it a personal goal to make sure he would help level the playing field for children. He chose to begin in the community that has supported him and plans to focus on the Foster Care and housing crisis needs.

HARMONY HIKE

Co-Founder of the Hike Kidz Foundation and Wife to Aaron Hike, Harmony, born and raised in Front Royal VA, found her deep roots and local connection to the community needs a natural mission to help launch the Hike Kidz Foundation. Her focus has been establishing grass root relationships, community connection, raising awareness and creative campaigns for results. With the unnaccounted for being close to home for her, she created the Safe & Sound Initiative to help reach the lost.

15.49% of population in Front Royal live in poverty, 65% higher than the state average, which is at 10.2%

There are at least 70 homeless students in our community attending our local schools. Others that are still coming forward.

Cost of living has rose 19.82% over the last three years.

Median household income for Front Royal is $62,735. Median household income for the state of Virginia is $87,249.

There are 52 children in Warren County Foster Care, twice the rate of the STATE average.
